Refund Policy for the Advocacy for War Against Corruption Initiative (AWACI)

At the Advocacy for War Against Corruption Initiative (AWACI), we strive to ensure that every donation, transaction, or contribution you make with us is meaningful and transparent. However, we understand that sometimes, issues may arise that necessitate a refund. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be processed for donations, payments, and other contributions made through our platform.

Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and the process for requesting a refund.


1. General Policy

We generally do not offer refunds for donations, as they are typically considered final once completed. However, in certain exceptional circumstances, a refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis. This includes instances where a mistake has been made, or if a donation was made in error.


2. Eligibility for Refund

Refunds will only be considered under the following conditions:

  • Duplicate Payments: If you accidentally make a duplicate donation or payment, you are eligible for a refund of the extra amount.
  • Error in Donation Amount: If you made a donation for an incorrect amount, we may consider a refund for the overpaid amount.
  • Processing Error: If the payment processing system fails or you are charged in error for a donation, we will review your case and issue a refund as applicable.
  • Unsolicited Donations: If a donation is made without your consent or authorization, we will assess the situation and, if confirmed, process a refund.

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Donations made for specific campaigns or fundraising initiatives where the terms clearly state that donations are non-refundable.
  • Donations made in support of causes that have already been utilized or where services have already been provided.

3. Refund Process

If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Send a detailed request to support@awaci.org with the subject line “Refund Request.” Your request should include:
    • Transaction ID
    • Date of donation or payment
    • Amount donated
    • Reason for the refund request
    • Any supporting documentation, if available.
  2. Review of Request: Our team will review your refund request and determine whether it meets the criteria for a refund. We aim to respond to all requests within 5-7 business days.
  3. Refund Approval: If your request is approved, we will process the refund to the original payment method used. Please note that the processing time for refunds may vary depending on the payment method (e.g., credit card refunds may take 5-10 business days).
  4. Notification: You will receive a confirmation email once your refund has been processed.

4. Processing Fees

Please note that any processing fees or charges incurred by AWACI for the donation may be non-refundable. If applicable, transaction fees charged by third-party payment providers may also be deducted from the refunded amount.


5. Donation to Third-Party Causes

If you have made a donation in support of a third-party initiative, project, or partner, AWACI will assess the refund request based on the terms and conditions of the partner or cause. Refunds in such cases may be subject to approval from the third-party organization, and AWACI will assist in facilitating the communication with the concerned entity.


6. Non-Refundable Donations

Certain donations, particularly those made to specific campaigns or during promotional periods where donations are explicitly non-refundable, may not be eligible for a refund. These terms will be clearly communicated before any donation is made.


7. Changes to the Refund Policy

AWACI reserves the right to update or modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes to the policy will be posted on this page, and the updated version will be effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review the policy periodically.
